Scope began as a dream brought to life by Steven and Dana, and today that legacy continues with Dave, who brings a strong background in hospitality, community connection, and customer-focused leadership. From the moment he joined the Scope team, he was inspired by the quality of the menu and the genuine care shown by the staff—an atmosphere he’s proud to carry forward.
Dave is excited to be part of Rotorua’s vibrant community and looks forward to welcoming locals and visitors alike as Scope continues to grow, evolve, and serve with heart.
Scope opened its doors for the first time on the 15th May 2017.
Scope’s interior pays a subtle tribute to the hunter, with a remarkable red/wapiti deer antler chandelier suspended at the centre of this bustling cafe.
Wild about flavour, Scope’s all day breakfast and lunch menu is a fusion of delectable wild flavours, combined with a twist, to create mouthwatering dishes. From Scope’s A La Carte Menu, to the vast savoury and sweet culinary delights gracing the counter and cabinet, everything is attentively prepared and made in house.
Coffee connoisseurs feel at home at Scope, with award-winning Altura Coffee available in two focussed blends. An intimate cafe, Scope is the go to place for a great meal, a riveting conversation and a cheeky glass of wine.
Open from 7am weekdays, and 8am weekends, Scope is open 7 days a week.
Passion is a word often overused but never over-rated- and it is something Scope instil into everything they do, from creating the best team, to providing the best service and experience.
Conveniently located upstairs, Scope’s Board Room can be booked free of charge for fully catered meetings (from our catering menu or our cafe menu), comfortably seating eight with a white board and a large screen monitor in easy view of all participants.
In a fast developing world Scope has changed and adjusted, now offering Take-Home Meals as well as a Catering Menu to make every corporate meeting one to look forward to (we all know, life is all about food).
As a small boutique eatery, Scope has as a very strong ethos of “buy local, support local”. As such, they work closely with Otaika Valley Eggs, Karma Cola, Altura, Bakers Delight and many more local produce providers.
Being part of a small community, Scope supports many of the local community driven projects, The Ronald McDonald House Supper Club, The Salvation Army appeals and the local Schools Galas to name just a few.
